I heard of Biscuiteers a few months ago, before Christmas in fact. I was watching a vlog on youtube of a present exchange (I was having a lazy day, don’t judge ;)) and one of the presents exchanged was a Biscuiteers tin. Of biscuits. (duh).
I did my research, and in the theme of Valentines, fell head over heels. I’m always on the lookout for unique gifts, so this jumped right onto my radar. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, when I received an email from Biscuiteers themselves, asking me if I would they could send me their Valentines Love Letter tin in exchange for a review. Don’t worry, all opinions are my own!
Biscuiteers is a London based company, complete with their own icing cafes and boutiques. They have a whole range of biscuits, from Thank You, Anniversary to New Home biscuit tins. They offer bespoke biscuits and cakes too.
They arrived in a beautiful tin. But before that, a hand written letter, so the person you’re sending it to knows how appreciated they are. If every gift I ever received was in a tin, I would be the happiest gal in the world. It becomes very sentimental, and as a baker, I can never have enough tins!
The biscuits are layered inside the tin. Each biscuit is firmly stuck onto its layer with a little icing, so there’s no risk of damage in the post. I know this is a big worry when sending gifts via post, you never know what condition they’ll get there in!
Each biscuit is hand decorated. You can tell just by looking at them that the people who decorate them are very skilled at what they do. They are made with high quality ingredients; 100% cocoa powder and British butter and flour.
Just as a side note, this tin of biscuits is not gluten free, although the company does have a large gluten free range.
Finally, the flavour. I’ve kept you waiting haven’t I! The biscuits are firm, which is so good. Soft biscuits don’t do it for me. They taste amazing. The combination between the royal icing and the biscuit is perfect. Biscuiteers offer vanilla, chocolate and All-spice as flavours. A difficult choice I would say! I opened the tin a few days ago, and they’re all finished! Yep, they’re that good. Even my little sister, who’s very fussy with her baked goods, gave these her approval. So much so that she took two! Two! They were mine!
This tin costs £35, but you get £5 off your first tin. So hurry, before the offer ends!
